Kit car - Mihelič

Niko Mihelič, mechanical engineer, designed kit car using Subaru AWD as a donnor car and for power unit the Harley Davidson Big Twin 88.
The chassis is a tubular one, coach is made of steel plates.
Harley Davidson is tuned up to 85 PS and mounted to the Subaru gear box via intermediate plate. AWD allows to ride also off road.

Ford model T

Retired doctor of electrical science Jure Mrzel has rebuilt a Ford model T, year 1921. He found original chasis, power unit with transmision, steering and suspension parts. Based on original photographies he redesigned and built with his friends a coach of a bus for 8 passengers. After first year of succesfull driving this car, he produced a wood gas generator according to old drawings. But he added an electrical air blower to speed starting procedur for generating the gas. Traditional generator produces the gas after 20 minutes of firing with the coal. His blower helps to produce the gas after allready 10 minutes. The gas filter is also included in the instalation.

The cruise speed of the bus is 28-30 kph. Higher speed produces some vibrations in engine which should be dangerous for it. The max. speed is 35 kph. Consumption is cca 25 kg of wood/100 km or for cca 4 hours long driving.

RR and Bentey meeting in Velden Austria

Austrian section of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Entusiast Club organised in first weekend of July a meeting in Karinthia, Austria. In Saturday afternoon all cars were shown to the public in front of Casino in Velden.

President of Austrian section depicted in his speech first steps of the famous factory RR, "oldtimer profesor" mr. Hermann Tratnik spoke about the Bentley history.

One hour presentation showed beautifull old cars and also new types of both firms.

Will modern cars shown last weekend after 30 and more years animate the public in the same manner as today classsic ones? Or the interes of the public will turn into another direction?

21. Classic Marathon

On sunday midday, June, 21 th the entrants startet the rally near the municipal government while the paddock was organised in the square close to the chathedral.

For the numerous crowd the cars were surprising interesing, local regularity drivers on classic cars were admiring the navigation instruments, compasses were surprise.

Very interesting special test was organised nearly 30 km far from Ljubljana on 800 m long circuit close to the city Logatec. Drivers showed excelent driving skill.

It is intersting that in January of this year on the same track special test of Winter Trial took place.
